Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) is launching a new benefit for eligible Medicare Advantage Dual Complete (HMO D-SNP) members in 2026. Eligible members will receive $85 a month to spend on healthy food at participating stores.
This $85 a month grocery benefit will be offered to members who meet Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) eligibility. SSBCI eligibility is based on clinical criteria.
CHPW Care Managers may be reaching out to you starting in 2026 to ask for your help in verifying a member’s eligibility for the SSBCI grocery benefit.
In December, CHPW will provide eligibility requirements, step-by- step instructions on how to help verify member eligibility, and a writable SSBCI verification form.
